Art Club fused glass last week!
Materials: 1 Glass Square, Elmer’s Glue, Glass Stringers/Sticks & Chunks of Glass (Make sure all pieces are COE 90 or 96) Shelf Primer, Slump Molds, Kiln
Steps:
1. Glue glass pieces to glass square with Elmer’s glue.
2. Paint shelf primer on slump mold up, down, and side to side.
3. Poke Holes in molds, where glass breathes.
4. Fuse the glass together, 8 segments long of building temperature up for 6-8 hours.
5. Once glass is fused, place in slumping mold. (This takes less time than fusing) Refire & let cool.
6. Glass will be slumped and finished!
In Advanced Art we are working on clay flower pots! We made biodegradeable newspaper bases for a real plant for now. (we collaborated with the ag class) Once the pots are done firing, we’ll put the newspaper inside the pot. More pictures to come soon!
